SSC JE Recruitment 2019: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has started the application for civil, electrical, mechanical and quantity surveying and contract for junior engineer post. Interested and qualified candidates can apply on the SSC's official website These recruitments will be in Group B (Non-Gazetteer) posts and according to the recommendation of 7th Pay Commission, level-6 is to be matrix. Selected candidates will be given a salary of Rs 35400-112400. According to the notification issued by SSC Junior Engineer (JE), the economically backward class (EWS) of General category will get 10 percent quota benefit. While SC, ST, OBC and PW categories will get the benefit of earlier reservation.

Actually, this is the first recruitment received from the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). President Ramnath Kovind last month approved special provision for giving 10 percent reservation in government jobs and education to the economically weaker sections of General category last month. The Constitution (103th Amendment) Act has been amended in Article 15 and 16 of the Constitution. Through this, a provision has been added which allows the state to make special provisions for the promotion of any economically weaker section of the citizens. According to the notification, for the purposes of this article and Article 16, the 'economically weaker sections will be those, which the government will notify from time to time on the basis of family income and other parameters of adverse economic situation.

It is mandatory to have a degree or diploma in that respective branch of engineering, for candidates who have to apply the candidate for the post. For postal department posts, the upper age limit is 27 years. For the posts of Central Water Commission and Central Public Works Department, the upper age limit is 32 years. The maximum age for posts in all other departments is 30 years. Candidates can apply on SSC JE posts by February 25. The last date for depositing online fees will be 27 February 2019, 5 pm. For posting on these posts, computer based examination (Paper 1) will be held from 23 to 29 September 2019, while the second paper (convention) will be held on December 29, 2019. However, no information has been given about how many appointments will be made on the basis of this recruitment examination.
